Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AI New Tab ("we", "us", "our"), operated by [Legal entity / individual name], collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our Chrome extension and website at chromeainewtab.com (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture from your Google account. We use these to create and identify your account. We do not receive your Google password.

Content you create

We store the prompts you write and the pages ("customizations") that are generated for you, along with their version history, so you can switch between, restore, and continue editing them.

Usage & billing data

We record credit balances, credit transactions, orders, and model-usage metadata (such as token counts and timestamps) needed to operate the credit system. We also keep basic technical logs (e.g. IP address and request identifiers) for security and abuse prevention.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Paddle, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Your card and billing details are entered on Paddle's secure checkout and handled by Paddle — we never receive or store your full payment card details. See Paddle's privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy.

2. AI processing of your prompts

To generate a page, the text of your prompt (and the relevant conversation context) is sent to a trusted third-party AI model provider, which returns the generated page. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in your prompts. Generated page code runs in an isolated browser sandbox with no network access and no access to your browsing data, history, or other tabs.

3. How we use information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure;
  • To generate, store, and restore your custom pages;
  • To process purchases and manage your credit balance;
  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service, including:

  • Google — authentication (sign-in);
  • Our AI model provider — generation of your pages;
  • Paddle — payment processing and tax/compliance as Merchant of Record;
  • Our hosting and database infrastructure providers.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

5. Data retention

We keep your account data and saved pages for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 8). We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), scoped authentication tokens, and a sandboxed execution model for generated code. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. International users

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where applicable, we and our processors implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@chromeainewtab.com. For payment-related data held by Paddle, you can also contact Paddle directly.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
